Old Guys With Old Cars
Stories
One of the reasons we have old cars
This story is about a preacher's car that got my wife's attention

1960 MGA 1600
Our Story
My wife had a job that required her to travel to neighboring states on a daily basis.
One day she came home all excited about seeing this little car setting on the front
lawn of a house in a small town located in southern Illinois and wanted me to go back with her to take a look at it.
We Bought it!

The Preacher
The car had an interesting backstory. It was previously owned by a preacher who used it to visit church members that were being cared for in local hospitals. Knowing that the car was used for such a noble cause we just had to purchase it!

Happy Couple
We were "the happy couple" We drove it everywhere We had lots of neat hair

German Sports Car
Commercial Airline pilot owned a porsche Only drove it to Florida once a year on vacations

1981 Porsche 911SC
We bought it and we drove it everywhere but Florida

Abandoned
The MGA 1600 set outside neglected for many years

Called Michael
Decided to fix up the little British car

(more about this picture later)
He new what to do
Michael started working on the car from the ground up

Take Your Time!
I've got no place to put it!

We developed a routine
He sends me pictures, I send him money

I'm running out of time - Still no place to put it

Call from Michael - "you're the only customer I've ever had that sends me money & has never seen the car"

THEN IT HAPPENED!

MGA
My wife say's "when you ever going to finish fixing up the MGA"
next day Michael calls
"when you coming over see the car?"
I said "lets pretend that we need to decide what color we want and look at a few samples of material for the top & interior so you can start putting the car back together"

while she's looking at samples
maybe she'll think this is the guts of the MGA

When she ask's "what's under the tarp? we'll reveal the car

20 minutes later

Thanks Michael Hill you make my wife very happy
End of Story?...not quite
